These will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will conquer them because He is Lord of lords and King of kings. Those with Him are called, chosen, and faithful. – Revelation 17:14
The enemy of God and God’s people is powerful and as the “day” draws near, he will do everything he can to amass his forces in order to somehow arrange our destruction. Yet, due to the fact that he is a liar (and the truth is not in him … or in those who fall under his deception), he is unaware of his inevitable, disastrous end. The Lord of lords and King of Kings has already defeated him, but he is seemingly unaware of his eventual destruction.
An affirming sign of living in the light of God’s wisdom is the ability to discern the side of this eternal conflict on which one needs to be. If indeed we are “with Christ,” then by grace we also know ourselves to be called, chosen, and faithful. He called. He chose. He made us faithful and it is by our faithfulness to our Lord and King that we prove our election and call. With this in mind, you still need to choose this moment, this day, this year, the one you will serve.
As for me and my house….
When the author walks on the stage the play is over. God is going to invade, all right … something so beautiful to some of us and so terrible to others that none of us will have any choice left. For this time it will be God without disguise … it will be too late then to choose your side. There is no use saying you choose to lie down when it has become impossible to stand up. – C. S. Lewis
