Jacob named the place where God had spoken with him Bethel. – Genesis 35:15

The place where Jacob first heard the voice of God was obviously very important to him. It was so important in fact that he built an altar there and called it, “Bethel,” which means “The House of God.”
Has God ever spoken to you? Maybe His voice wasn’t audible, yet through the Bible, prayer, or the words of another believer you heard His “voice.” I hear from God all the time (through the media outlined above), but there have been particular times in my life when His “voice” has changed or challenged me to do something important or (what seemed to me at the time) extraordinary. These “moments” are “Bethel’s” to me … places in time when I knew God’s presence in a special way and it ended up being a pivotal moment.
You can’t hear God’s voice if you don’t know Him. Remain in Him (John 15) and His Word and you WILL hear from Him. If you “listen,” Christ will lead you where He wants you to be.
