But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” – Luke 10:41-42

Are you ADD (do you have Attention Deficit Disorder)? I have been accused of being ADD. Am I? I don’t really know. Ooh … what’s that? … Shiny!
In truth, I think we are all a little ADD, particularly when it comes to our relationship with Jesus. The Lord told Martha, in the midst of her busy-ness, that only ONE thing was necessary and that thing was to spend time with Him. Like Martha, I am sometimes “worried and upset over many things” and these things hinder my ability to focus on the Savior.
Is anything interfering with your “attention” to Jesus? Your work … your finances … your family … your ministry? Spiritually-speaking, we can all be a little (or sometimes a lot) ADD, but the reasons for our “attention deficit” are not that complicated. Perhaps, while God may always be worthy of our attention, we sometimes (to be quite honest) just don’t think He is.
I never knew how to worship until I knew how to love. – Henry Ward Beecher
