The only letter of recommendation we need is you yourselves. Your lives are a letter written in our hearts; everyone can read it and recognize our good work among you. – 2 Corinthians 3:2

What is the goal of our ministry and service to God? Putting it simply, isn’t it to glorify God and change lives into His image? It seems to me that if you choose to minister to someone, then three outcomes will probably occur: God’s glory will be revealed, the person’s life will change, and so will yours!
Paul told the church at Corinth that they were a “letter” of recommendation that had been written on his heart, recognized and read by everyone. Because Paul (and his co-laborers) had ministered to the people of Corinth, their lives and the lives of the Corinthians had been changed forever. This change, as Paul said, was in fact being seen by everyone in the world.
For this reason, I appreciate the ministry I have been given. By it, I have been changed and by it, God has changed others. I am certain this can also be true for any Christ-follower, if he or she will simply join God where He is already at work.
So tell me, what will your life’s “letter” be?
Self-praise is no recommendation. – English Proverb
