Thus says the Lord God, “I will also take a sprig from the lofty top of the cedar and set it out; I will pluck from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one and I will plant it on a high and lofty mountain.” – Ezekiel 17:22
The Bible is full of clear and indirect prophecies concerning the Jewish Messiah. In the one from Ezekiel included above, the Lord spoke through His prophet of a great cedar which would produce a tender sprig that would eventually be planted on a high towering mountain. The context is one of Israel’s redemption and, therefore, this also seems to be a picture of the Promised Messiah.
When you read the Bible, Old and New Testaments, do you read it with the understanding that the story of Christ is practically everywhere you look? While the Scriptures are indeed made up of many letters, poems, lists, and stories, but it is also one great story. It is the story of a Savior.
Read it and you will indeed find Him for He is there … everywhere.
As I read, my suspicion that Jesus might really be the Messiah was confirmed. – Jay Sekulow
