An Enduring Faith

If anyone is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes; if anyone kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is the perseverance and the faith of the saints. – Revelation 13:10

It seems that there are as many varied and imaginative views of the end-times as there are pseudo-theologians with multiple letters after their names. However, with all the speculation that surrounds the fulfillment of the prophecies of Revelation, most conservative biblical scholars agree on this one truth: the saints are known by their endurance and faith.

There will be many “pretenders” and “professors” in the last days, but those who truly believe (possessors) will be known by their ability to stand for Christ despite the difficulties they face. This has been true throughout church history and it will certainly hold true until the Savior’s return.

With that in mind, how are you enduring? With faith? True saints will exhibit both, no matter the circumstances.

“If people are going to believe in a God at all,” we ask, “what other kind would they believe in?” But the answer of history is, “Almost any other kind.” – C. S. Lewis
