Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also. – 1 John 2:23
All of Christianity hinges on the person and work of Jesus Christ, while every major cult in existence today casts doubt upon the deity of the Savior. Every other world religion is also spiritually bankrupt due to an erroneous understanding (or total disregard) of Jesus’ divine identity.
Of all the things that must be right about our faith, this one irreducible minimum is supreme: “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).” This one sentence clearly declares His equality and identification with God, His Father. This is the gospel. This is the foundation of the Christian faith.
Let’s face it. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by Me (John 14:6).” No Son equals no Father and no Holy Spirit, ultimately meaning no heaven and only hell to pay.
It is a remarkable fact that all the heresies which have arisen in the Christian Church have had a decided tendency to dishonor God and to flatter man. – Charles Spurgeon
